Nurse
Laural's Secret Obsession...

Okay,
I guess we've kept you all wondering long enough! We introduced the new
Nurse's
Cape
and told you there was a
secret behind it... Well, it just so happens that Nurse Laural's secret
obsession happens to be sewing! Yeah, right, like she has tons of time
to do it... But she is the Mistress of the Sewing Machine, creating the
new Nurse's Cape!
She's been making her own
clothes, as well as clothes and accessories for friends and relatives for
years!! It all started when her Granny sat her down in front of her old
black Singer sewing machine and "magically" created a really great dress
for a party... That was it! Granny was nagged into oblivion until she taught
Laural everything she knew.
After hearing requests from so
many customers about finding one of the "original style" Nurse's Cape and
her own desire to have one, Laural decided to try making one. She
began by searching out the perfect pattern. She looked through books of
old uniforms and capes. She finally found the perfect "looking" pattern,
but it needed modification to make it more authentic feeling.
The next task was o find the
authentic looking hardware... you know, those gold coin-type buttons with
the chain between to hold the collar closed! |

...as if she
has so much time on her hands in the first place! But this Cape became
an obsession to her and she was going to track down those buttons at any
cost!
Then, she needed to decide
what type of fabric to use. The original 1940-1970's style Nurse's Capes
were mostly all made of a very heavy wool with a satin or silk type lining!
They were very heavy and obviously the design was to keep you warm! Well,
playing in the Medical Fetish Clinic, would way too hot for such fabrics!
So she found a lighter weight dark navy blue outer layer and a sexy red
shiny rayon-satin lining!
Once all of the materials
were found, and she felt certain they were readily available to make for
customer orders, Laural went to work on the prototype... She stayed up
all night once she got started, from the excitement and anticipation of
seeing it "finished'! When she came in the following day, with it
draped around her shoulders, we all dropped our mouths, gasped and broke
into an applause!
So there you go! Thanks to Nurse
Laural, we now offer (and we believe we are the only company anywhere doing
so!) a wonderful high quality, hand made Nurse's Cape! They are basically
one size fits all, but since we don't believe that saying, if you have
